Celebrating International Intellectual Property Day, DES Pune University hosted a session about "Importance of Patents & IPRs in Pursuing Sustainable Development Goals". Prof. Adv. Ganesh Hingmire, a well-known expert, led the session, explaining how intellectual property rights are important for helping communities grow in a lasting way. Attendees learned a lot about how patents, innovation, and making society better are connected. The session showed ways to use intellectual property for a better future.

DES Pune University proudly hosted the International Strategic Conclave on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) held on 14th and 15th December, 2023 organised by the Ministry of Education, DES PU and IIT- Delhi. The conclave witnessed active participation from 80 esteemed experts such as Prof. D. Venkat Rao (EFLU, Hyderabad), Prof. Neeraja Gupta (VC, Gujarat University), Prof. Mohan Raghavan (IIT Hyderabad), Deepak Singhal (IAS; Retd. Chief Secretary, U.P), Kalyan Vishvanathan (Hindu University of America, Orlando Florida), Prof. Mahadevan (IIM, Bangalore). This event successfully laid the foundation for a comprehensive national vision for IKS, envisioning its role in the contemporary educational landscape.

A Two-Day National Workshop on "Developing Curricula and Textual Material for Economics," targeted towards Higher Education Learners as per the mandate of NEP 2020, was organised by IKS Research Centre of DES Pune University, Pune (DES PU) in association with Institute for Educational and Developmental Studies (IEDS), Noida. It was organised on 21st and 22nd December, 2023, at DES PU campus. The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with distinguished speakers like Prof. TCA Anant, Former UPSC member and Professor at Delhi School of Economics, Prof. N. R. Bhanumurthy, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics University, Bengaluru, and Prof. Satish Deodhar from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. There were 70 participants from reputed universities like Jammu University, University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central University of Punjab, and Central University of Karnataka.
